Robson's Retreat Villa - Useful Links

Here we have some of the useful links to what Orlando has to offer.

Roller Coasters of Florida: Just some of the "coasters" that are within easy travelling distance from our vacation home

Walt Disney World

One of the most popular attractions in Florida is Walt Disney World Orlando. The size of Walt Disney property is around the size of San Francisco in square miles, so it is a huge place. On the property are 4 major theme parks The Magic Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios (MGM), EPCOT and the latest addition Animal Kingdom and 2 water parks, Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach.

Universal Resort Orlando

Another very popular resort in Orlando is Universal Studios Orlando. The resort consists of two major theme parks Universal Studios that has rides that are linked to well known films such as Jaws and The Mummy as well as a look at behind the scenes of making movies. Islands of Adventure is a theme park with different themed islands that have rides such as The Hulk and Spiderman. This park has more thrill rides than Universal. These 2 parks are connected to City Walk which is a complex of shops, bars and restaurants. There is also a multi screen cinema.

Sea World Orlando

Sea World Orlando is a firm favourite with all the family and has a nice relaxing atmosphere compared to some of the other parks. There are 3 parks that belong to the Sea World family in Orlando and they are Sea World where you can see Shamu the killer whale. Discovery Cove which has more of a "back to nature" atmosphere. Here you can swim with Dolphins, feed the fish and birds and have a swim with the fish. The last park is Aquatica and is a water park filled with flumes and water based fun.

Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens is a little further away in Tampa, usually around a 60 minute drive from Orlando. It is a theme park with thrill rides such as Kumba, Shiekra and Montu all great roller coasters but they also have a wild life park with many African animals. Busch Gardens is also a place where they used to brew Budweiser but that has since closed.

Orlando Golf

Orlando is blessed with hundreds of Golf Courses all within easy reach of the tourist areas. There are many to choose from but here are a few examples.

  • Champions Gate: This is a top course and there are 2 to choose from designed by Greg Norman.
  • Highlands Reserve: This course is another great course that has plenty to offer and is more affordable.
